Karanganyar Regent, Drs. H. Juliyatmono M.M became one of the graduates of Muhammadiyah University Surakarta (UMS) Period II 2022/2023 which was held on Saturday (24/12) at the UMS KH Ahmad Dahlan Edutorium Building.
A graduate of the Master of Laws, Juliyatmono said that UMS is a campus that is very familiar to the community.
“UMS is enlightening so learning is exciting and fun. Apart from that, the kinship is extraordinary and very friendly so that all the students become more intimate,” said the Regent of Karanganyar.
According to him, the more people get higher education, the higher the civilization. This will happen if the people become superior Human Resources (HR).
“Hopefully in the future UMS will develop even more coolly, with the characteristics of religious values that are taught well, the religion that is developed is enlightening. Enlightening is like sunshine, never choosing who it shines on, and doing it selflessly,” he explained.
He hopes that this can also be applied by graduates, alumni wherever they are can contribute and work selflessly, can enlighten everyone.
On this happy occasion, the Karanganyar Regent also led the reading of the Prasetya Graduation which was attended by 1,641 graduation participants.
UMS Chancellor, Prof. Sofyan Anif M.Sc., in his remarks congratulated the graduates, including the Regent of Karanganyar, Yuliatmono, who graduated in this period.
“Like the Karanganyar Regent, he is an example of a genuine Muhammadiyah cadre and can show his achievements and contributions to society. This is our pride, as an alma mater, a contribution to the alma mater and a contribution to the nation and state,” said the Chancellor in his remarks.
The Chancellor advised, be alumni who have character, UMS equips graduates with Science and Technology competence (IPTEKS) and also spiritual qualities can become capital to build human identity to become superior HR.
“So there is a difference between UMS graduates and other tertiary institutions. Be alumni who always do good, khoirunnas anfauhum linnas, that is, the best human being is one who is useful for others.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Graduation Committee, Dr. Triyono, advised graduates to always uphold their alma mater, UMS.
“Show achievements wherever you work, always maintain the good name of UMS,” said Triyono who is also the Head of BAA.
